In 2012, after the President signed the executive order for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), SAHE held a candle-light vigil for those left out. We understand that though DACA is a step forward, it is not a long-term solution. The vigil was a call for a real solution, an immigration reform that strengthens our families, community and economy by creating a necessary and just pathway to Permanent Residency and Citizenship. DACA was gained after many years of peoples' dedication to organizing and coming forward to address the issue. Today we continue to organize and take action.
